Kundalini Yoga Increases Tranquility and Energy

My training is in kundalini yoga and it involves, breathing, meditation and of course yoga poses.

With kundalini yoga, you can close your eyes and increase your flexibility, energy, breath capacity and responses to daily life. One of the top books is called

Kundalini Yoga: The Flow of Eternal Power
by Shakti Parwha Kaur Khalsa

Here is more information on the book:

Shakti Parwha Kaur Khalsa was one of the closest students to Yogi Bhajan. She's been teaching for many years and has a wonderful approach with compassion and wisdom.

The book covers topics including sets for first thing in the morning, the chakras, stress reduction, nutrition, mantras and breathing. She has specific yoga sets for women with illustrations of each pose. There are breath series with pictures to sharpen the mind. The glands are discussed and how to stimulate various ones through the use of breath, yoga and meditation.

The proper way to do Sat Kriya (the granddaddy of kriyas in kundalini yoga) is explained. As a yoga teacher this is loved by both beginners as well as intermediate and advanced students for the clarity and depth. Each reading gives you more tools and tips.

I took a 10 month training to get my certification in kundalini yoga. I love this form of yoga because it really quieted my mind and stop it from going on and on it's inner dialogue. We used this book in my training and it's a staple for kundalini yoga student and teachers.

I'm a licensed social worker as well as a certified yoga teacher and blend my understanding of both of these areas into each lesson and class.

It is very rewarding when others are helped by these techniques.

If you are looking for a career change and have noticed differences from taking classes, this may be right for you.

You can give both private and group classes after your training. Kundalini yoga is great for beginners because they can close their eyes and not be intimidated by having to perform perfect alignments or have lots of flexibility. Everyone stretches at their own pace. Shakti Kaur's book goes into ways to loosen up as well as how to help digestion and elimination.
